Spooky Art in the Park Brings Halloween Creativity to Dahlonega
Spooky season came to life at DAA Spooky Art in the Park on Saturday, October 3, as artists, makers, musicians and Halloween lovers gathered for a festive day of creativity in the park. From handmade jewelry and pottery to woodwork, paintings and whimsical creations, the event showcased the incredible talent of our local and regional arts community.
Visitors had the opportunity to shop with an eclectic group of artists and makers, including Bird Brainz, Dulcimer's House, Robin's Wraps, Birdman, JJ Graziano and Bart Prato, Chattahoochee Mermaid, The Lazy Homesteader LLC, Vagabond's Crafts, The Painted Garden, Nocturnal Rose Creations, Letter J for Julie, Daisy Mae Jewelry Co., Sprout, Brenda Steele Jewelry, Custom Cutts, With Grace Art Studio, Kennedy Creations, The Beaded Fable, Pottery to Di for, Above the Rain Collective, WiredGemMama, Peace by Piece, Amelia Taylor Art & Design, Squirrely Hippie Chick, Crazy Mule Woodturners, 1000 Highways Woodwork and Art, Swallow Tail Creations, Rae-Lynne Swigart & Jeffree Lerner, and Martin's Pottery LLC.
And, of course, it wouldn't be Spooky Art in the Park without a little Halloween fun! Visitors—especially the young ones—were invited to go trick-or-treating at the artists' booths, adding an extra bit of magic to the day. Costumes, candy and creative handmade goods made for a festive atmosphere throughout the park.
The day also featured live music, with guitarist and vocalist Judy Linn performing alongside Bryan Garris on alto flute, providing a soundtrack for the afternoon.
Unfortunately, concerns about the weather ultimately meant the event had to wrap up earlier than planned. While we didn't get quite as much time together as we had hoped, we are incredibly grateful to everyone who came out, supported our artists and helped make the day special.
A huge thank-you goes to all of the artists and makers who shared their work, the musicians who entertained us, the volunteers who helped make the event possible, and everyone who stopped by to shop, trick-or-treat and celebrate the arts in Dahlonega.
The weather may have shortened our spooky celebration, but it certainly didn't dampen our enthusiasm. We're already looking forward to next year!
