HUZZAH! DAA Kilts, Coos, and Brews Art Market Brings Renaissance Revelry to 52 West Brewing

Dahlonega Arts Alliance’s Kilts, Coos, and Brews Art Market transported guests to a magical mash-up of Highland flair and Renaissance whimsy on Saturday, August 2nd at 52 West Brewing. The event offered a spirited afternoon of artisan shopping, fantasy-themed fun, and Celtic rock, all with a pint in hand and a smile on every face.

Over a dozen local and regional artists turned the brewery’s grounds into a bustling medieval market. LeeMeeWon Designs wowed shoppers with glowing LED bottles, trinket boxes, and whimsical mixed media creations, while SPARKLE & GRACE, By Edie Allen Design Studio, Made by Pat LLC, and Simply Affinity each added their unique sparkle with handcrafted jewelry ranging from bead weaving to embossed metal.

Pottery lovers were drawn to the earthy craftsmanship of Kylie’s Clay whose mugs and vessels felt pulled from a noble feast. Papas Trinkets impressed with finely turned wooden wares—practical enough for the modern age and rustic enough for a wizard’s workshop.

Fantasy flair continued with Scribbler Experiment, offering color-your-own textile goods that let kids and adults become the artists, while Amelia Taylor Art and Design showcased an enchanting blend of crochet, digital illustration, and hand-drawn work. Simple Solstice Farms added a rugged, elemental touch with pieces made from bone, glass, wood, and metal.

Live demonstrations gave the event even more magic. Lost Valley Forge set up their traveling forge for an all-day blacksmithing demo, hammering glowing steel into tools and treasures while onlookers stood mesmerized by the sparks. Yarn & Thyme brought fiber arts to life, spinning wool with historic technique and sharing the calming rhythm of handcraft. Dahlonega Belly Dance provided her trademark charm and poise while also giving some impromptu lessons on how to balance a sword on one’s head while shimming and swaying to the music.

The air truly came alive when Land Loch’d, a Celtic rock band well-known from the Georgia Renaissance Festival, took the stage. Their high-energy set blended traditional bagpipes and modern riffs, inspiring spontaneous dancing, flagon-raising, and a few rounds of shouting “Slàinte!” among the crowd.

With tartan kilts, artisan talent, hands-on demos, and brews flowing freely, DAA Kilts, Coos, and Brews was a rousing success—celebrating community, creativity, and just the right amount of fantasy. Special thanks to 52 West Brewing for hosting us on this magic filled day!
