On Saturday, July 5th, the Dahlonega Arts Alliance teamed up with Georgia Mountains Unitarian Universalist Church for an unforgettable evening of fun, flair, and a whole lot of BINGO! at the DAA American Art Bingo Night! Held at GMUUC, the event drew a lively crowd of art lovers, game enthusiasts, and community supporters, all gathered to celebrate American art through the most unexpected of formats—BINGO.
The night kicked off with a surprise karaoke medley led by the dynamic cohosts: DAA Chair Meagan Garris and GMUUC Bingo Coordinator and fellow DAA-er Bobby Youngblood—showcasing his newest character, “Gold Fever”. From Neil Diamond’s America to Don McClean’s American Pie, their show-stopping duet had the crowd singing along and set the tone for an evening that was equal parts entertainment and community connection.
Adding to the festivities was a costume contest that brought out some seriously creative interpretations of American art. The clear winners? A couple perfectly costumed as the stoic pair from Grant Wood’s “American Gothic” complete with picture frame and pitchfork in hand—earning them a DAA Gift Card and plenty of applause.
The bingo rounds were filled with excitement and lucky wins. Raffle tickets added even more chances to win with fantastic prizes donated by local favorites: 52 West Brewing, Accent Cellars Urban Winery, and the Dahlonega Butterfly Farm.
Everyone in attendance went home with a little something extra—the 2025 DAA Coloring Book, a creative keepsake celebrating the work of DAA’s member artists.
This memorable night wouldn’t have been possible without the energy and effort of the amazing volunteers who helped bring it all together. Special thanks go out to Pattie Pirone, JJ Graziano, Karen Harwood, Holly Verhasselt, Bryan Garris, and Janet Ericson & Paul Bryant, as well as the entire GMUUC Bingo Team, for making the event a resounding success.
