A Joyful Day of Art, Music, and Community: Summer Art in the Park 2025
On Saturday, June 7th, 2025, the Dahlonega Arts Alliance brought the community together for a vibrant day of creativity at Summer Art in the Park, held in the heart of downtown Dahlonega at Hancock Park. Beneath the shade of the trees and surrounded by music, laughter, and the scent of summer, this beloved annual event once again transformed the park into a bustling celebration of local art and talent.
Over 30 artists and makers set up booths throughout the park, offering a stunning variety of handmade work. Shoppers browsed colorful creations by BirdBrainz JJ Graziano & Bart Prato, intricate quilts from Dulcimer’s House, and fantasy-inspired jewelry from Wired Gem Mama, while author Mary Jane Capps charmed visitors with her storytelling and signed books.
The market featured everything from eco-friendly goods to fine art. Visitors explored unique pieces from Simply Affinity, The Green Moth, Charline Davis, Brenda Steele Jewelry, and the quirky and fun designs of Saffron Fox. The skilled craftsmanship of Crazy Mule Woodturners drew admirers, as did Catherine Blue’s eye-catching art and Cohn Creations’ distinctive pieces.
Nature and beauty blended perfectly with offerings from Sprout, Daisy Mae Jewelry Co, Adventure Crew Stone & Glass Pendants, and Robin’s Wraps & Bowls by Deb. Other highlights included With Grace Art Studio, the ever-energetic BIRDMAN, gothic flair from Nocturnal Rose Creations, and inspired pieces by Faithfully Testify.
Rounding out the lineup were the functional ceramics of Etowah River Pottery, artful works by Jeffree Lerner, cozy wearables from Vagabond Fiber Arts, elegant designs by MLB Design, soulful expressions from Anne Hope, and fragrant offerings from Georgia Moon Soap and Candle Company.
Adding to the magic of the day were lively performances from local artists. Dahlonega Belly Dance enchanted the audience with their signature energy, highlighted by a calming and graceful tai chi demonstration from Lumpkin County Senior Center’s Tai Chi for Health class. Musical performances included Chris Estrada, whose upbeat guitar melodies set the afternoon mood, the sultry sounds of jazz singer Cindy Bell, and an capped off with a masterful set by Hungarian guitarist Zoltan Somogyi.
With its perfect blend of artistry, music, and community, Summer Art in the Park 2025 was a true reflection of Dahlonega’s creative spirit. The Dahlonega Arts Alliance once again brought people together in celebration of local talent, creating a beautiful day to remember at Hancock Park.
